Hi I'm moving to California. Im looking in the Long Beach and Palm Springs area. I need to know if these areas are safe, affordable, etc.
Im am a 21 year old single black female with a 2 year old daughter. I am also a student and plan to continue my education there.

I plan to get a one bedroom apartment or a studio. I would pefer somewhere that is metro accessible but it doesn't have to be. As far as race I would pefer somewhere diverse but safe. I would also pefer somewhere in close proximity to Los Angeles.

Can anyone give me me information. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

Where are you going to be going to school? How much do you want to spend on housing? I am thinking Long Beach is your better bet, if you are trying to decide between that and Palm Springs. Long Beach has the Blue Line train connecting it with Los Angeles, is metropolitan and diverse ... tell more about your school/work plans.

Palm Springs is probably not an option if you want to be close to LA metro area. Palm Springs is a good 2-3 hour drive from downtown LA. Long Beach would be a good bet for you. Do a "SEARCH" on the board for Long Beach, and you'll get a lot of good information.
