Philadelphia and New York City have decided not to resume indoor dining soon. I suspect that's based on CDC guidance. Therefore, I expect Newsom to halt indoor dining in LA County and other hot spots effective tomorrow. Whether it has been spreading the virus more than other indoor environments, I don't know.

This is unbelievable.

California is now halting its expansion, citing costs, even as the state is getting walloped by record-setting spikes in new infections and double-digit increases in hospitalizations.

The state will no longer fund new testing sites, despite pleas from counties for additional assistance — and it has closed some locations and moved them elsewhere. It also has threatened to pull testing out of underutilized sites, according to nearly two dozen interviews with county public health officials.

Most of that is obviously terrible, but if the government can offload some of it to corporate-owned pharmacies and charge, say, $10 per visitor to people with no evidence of financial hardship, the state should be able to continue increasing testing. Edit: corporations should have to pay for job-related testing of their employees. Also, days ago Newsom spoke of possibly doing blood pooling to save money.

Default New closures

Yes, Newsom just shut down indoor dining in LA and many other counties, for at least 3 weeks. All Los Angeles beaches, except maybe private, will be closed through the weekend. Some other indoor facilities have been closed for those 3+ weeks. Gyms are still open, surprisingly, but maybe Garcetti will order local closure if they have any outbreaks.

I am hearing Newsom talking about avoiding private gatherings, but with zero enforcement. I can't imagine wimpy Garcetti doing anything more. Guerilla tactics I suggested earlier, please.

"Mobile testing sites" Garcetti is doing what I said weeks ago, for some segments of the population with outbreaks who haven't been getting tested enough.

Additionally, it is important to note that people from the Third World are mistrustful of government and rightfully so because, in their countries of origin, government officials are very corrupt. However, in a "normal" industrialized country, such as the United States, for example, immigrants from the Third World do not adhere to government ordinances because corruption and lawlessness formulate their "baseline."

It really boils down to genetics: not all cultures are equal.

What about immigrants from India (third world country) but Indians in the U.S. are more law abiding and have a higher average income/higher school achievement than Whites by a large margin?

I don't think indoor sit down dining ever did open in LA.

The Indians moving to the USA aren't typical Indians.

I already told you it did. I saw it driving by and even received email notifications from restaurants.

I blame at least partially the numerous multi-generation households that have 7, 8, 9 or more people crammed into 1200 sq. ft.
