Wow

“Projected per-unit cost of apartments for homeless ($700K) is greater than the county's median sales price for a home ($618K)”

That's only the beginning. Add in support staff to make sure the place doesn't burn down, you have social workers, nurses, admin staff, janitorial all of those people want to be paid for their time

When Hickenlooper was mayor of Denver he wanted to bring in all the homeless and it was found to cost $100k per bum to house them, feed them, provide numerous social services(Which are very $$$) to them if Denver were to implement the program everyone said no way to that shiate.

If LA doesn't have all of the staff ready for those bums they will just trash the units.

It's probably more than $100k per bum now since that was posted about 6 years ago.

I don’t see why we should be paying for anybody that comes here from elsewhere.
Not sustainable , just like paying for illegal aliens .

People are taking advantage of us

Funneling more money through the government will definitely combat wealth inequality.

If federal gov gives money , it should be with many conditions and oversight .

Otherwise it’ll just be a big waste of money . I don’t see Trump administration paying to build $700,000 units.

This is clearly a big pay day for developers with city hall connections .

To be a bit more accurate, California elected politicians, for the most part, suffer from TDS and vehemently hate President Trump, as they vehemently hate all Republicans, all Conservatives, and even all Democrats to the right of Nancy Pelosi.

President Trump doesn't hate California. He even said Nancy Pelosi is a fair person (!), a non-racist, and that Occasional-Cortex should, in essence, grow up.

As if anything Trump says is heartfelt, honest and meaningful?

And yes, of course sane people hate the Liar-In-Chief.

The blowhard-in-chief hates Muslims and illegal immigrants, and makes no effort to conceal it. Some Democrats do hate Trump, others don't, but rarely do you find elected politicians of either party who hate whole categories of people the way Trump does. I believe what you're doing is called "projection", one of the orangutan-in-chief's favorite pastimes.

Miguel Santana is stepping down from his current position to work on broader strategies for combating homelessness and the region’s approach to the homeless crisis.

"We're not at a point where we should be celebrating what’s been done,” Santana said. “The public’s frustration and anger around what they’re seeing as a lack of progress is legitimate.”

This is a big problem with people camping on the la river . Many drugged out junkies living there now .

——

“In his district, Blumenfield says the river is hardly an asset. Instead, there are “significant problem areas,” where “drug use, camping, obstructions of the bike path, hazardous waste, and—in the absence of restroom facilities—unsanitary conditions” prevail, he says in the motion.

Addressing these issues quickly is complicated, due to the multiple agencies that have abutting and overlapping authority over the area around the waterway, Blumenfield says.”

Targeting homeless camps, councilmember asks for more oversight of LA River
