i lived in the area for a few years and plane noise was not really an issue. we'd hear planes on occasion, but not enough to affect or QOL. the upsides of the neighborhood far outweighed any issues caused by the airport.

You hear plane noise, but they are mostly small planes so it's not too bad.

The private jets that use the airport are pretty quiet IMO. They are whisper quiet compared to commercial jets departing LAX. Being west of the airport under the flight path of the runway would be the noisiest place to live.

If you are in the streets immediately adjacent such as Ashland, you will definitely hear it, but otherwise it just becomes part of the background noise. Lived on Oak and 20th for years and every now and then would notice one of the larger jets taking off, but that was out of the ordinary. Never enough to disturb sleep.

You don't really hear the noise from the planes when I go there. I live next to LAX and I can't really hear the planes there eaither, however, if something happens I can definitely hear helicopters.
