I was driving home from a nearby IKEA this morning.

Facing north, the first thing I noticed was of course how clear the sky was after the rain and wind.

Then I noticed the snow on the not-so-distant mountains. I guess it's finally cold enough.

Where else can you experience snow, forests, mountains, deserts, and beaches all within a few hour of driving?

At least once a year, back in my high school days, I would surf Malibu in the morning, then go snow skiing in Big Bear in the afternoon. Just to say it could be done.

One of the few things I miss about living in So. California is the mountains, especially when they are snowcapped. I could stare for hours. Beautiful!

Especially, being stuck here in South Florida, where there is nothing larger than an ant hill.

It's nice when the neighborhood in the foreground is nice to look at as well.
