I've been looking on the internet but can't seem to find any 55+ neighborhoods around LA that are houses. I'm not looking for apartments or condos...looking for a house with small yard. Can someone give me some names of neighborhoods/sub-divisions I can look up? Anywhere safe within 30 miles of Torrance but not a Beverly Hills price. Thank you!

Laguna Woods, but that's pushing the 30 miles thing.

Good luck!

Thanks, I'll look into it. I guess there are not many retirement sections there with houses...I can't find much on the internet and not many replies.

Yeah, most of the 55+ communities in urban So Cal are trailer parks or condos. I can't think of a single one in LA County -- in fact, none in this list are in LA County.

Marina Del Rey is a "naturally occurring retirement community" (NORC)...
