Safe, clean, older suburb. Priced lower than equivalent neighborhoods due to distance from westside, Hollywood, and DTLA, proximity to bad neighborhoods(mission hills and north hills), and subpar schools.

Not sure if you were referring to GH schools or nearby bad neighbor schools but GH schools are pretty decent for the most part:

It is clear from the name that the reason of the fame is the hills which are really source of the attraction for the outsiders. I also have visit number of times.

I think the name itself is great: Gra-na-da Hills ... rolls off the tongue like rich Corinthian leather or sumptuous Alcantara "suede".

Your question contains a supposition you don't explain. Who called it great, and why? You could ask "What's so great about . . ." dozens of other suburbs in the City of L.A. (plus independent cities such as Burbank and San Fernando). Also, you don't say what aspects of the place's supposed greatness are important to you, and why. Are you seriously considering a move or just thinking out loud? What are you also thinking about nearby areas, such as Chatsworth? I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and as one moved from one suburb to another it was often hard to see a difference (and each suburb had good and bad areas). I liked Chatsworth for Chatsworth Park (hiking, rock climbing, and a train tunnel which was in the opening scenes of a great James Cagney film "White Heat").

It's clean, safe and quite affordable.. North Granada Hills is made up of McMansions..

The downside is that the area is not very popular and it's very far from everything.,

A nice neighborhood and probably has a lot of granola bars. That's what I think when I hear the word "Granada".
