As kids we would love to see the radar planes flying over on their trips to Bethpage. Also, it was rather neat to see the blimps pass on their way to moor at Republic.

the blimps were always cool. they always paved way for a "fat joke" when there was a chubby kid around, too!

Not so, central Nassau communities such as Hicksville, Westbury, and Garden City are experiencing parades of arrivals to JFK, such as today, where the planes fly lower than 3000ft.
The jet whine is often constant here for hours every night. Garden City seems to get the brunt of it.

I currently live in North Patchogue and I have grandparents that live in Blue Point and some days especially early spring to around July, The temperature could be anywhere from 7 to 12 degrees warmer in North Patchogue then in Blue Point on any given day. One day in March this year it was 67 degrees in North Patchogue and it was only 55 degrees in Blue Point. Another example this year was when it was near 90 this year on a day in late May in North Patchogue and Blue Point was 77 degrees. There’s times where North Patchogue is 90 degrees and the Village of Patchogue is only 80 to 82 degrees. Most recently it was 91 degrees in North Patchogue and only about 81 degrees in the Village of Patchogue and just a few days ago it was 79 in North Patchogue and only 70 to 71 degrees in the Village of Patchogue. A South wind brings lots of micro climates to Long Island. When Long Island gets a SW WSW or W coming off the land the temperatures become more uniform on Long Island but you are still cooler if you are on the South Shore South of Sunrise Hwy which is the demarcation line for the South Shore on Long Island and the East End on the Twin Forks

You will never understand how happy I am that you are out of witness protection, and this post is a great example of why.
