I live S of 27A in Lindenhurst and like it, but if I had the cash, I'd do waterfront Bablyon.

Interesting start to the poll. I'm surprised no Merrick/Bellmore/Seaford votes yet. Not alot of votes but curious none the less.

Babylon gets my vote too. At the beach in 10 mins., in Manhattan in 60 mins., close to major roads, and a great main street! Cant go wrong.

Perhaps the poll should have been broken up into two: One for the Suffolk towns and one for the Nassau towns.

honestly, it all depends what you want. I would personally say Merrick, but I value location and convenience (convenience in this case being defined as being able to get to Flushing and still get home to get the kidlets out of day care), plus some other factors that probably aren't relevant to many people.

being born and raised in West Islip, I would say West Islip...the community remains beautiful, good schools, great neighborhoods. If I could have afforded it on a single income, I would have moved back...that's my true home/roots.

Really depends where in Suffolk. The 110 corridor isn't too far at all, but I guess that depends on what one's opinion of far is.
