another uneventful commute to Manhattan. Had a 3 seater to myself again on the 9am LIRR ride. Walked my typical 1+ mile to work (20+ blocks). Little slushy here & there. Tourists were annoying as usual. Noticed the coffee cart vendor all didn't come in today

The windchill is atrocious right now. Couldn't do more than 15 minutes clearing the rest of my driveway.

wear a face mask!
When I use the machine to plow snow, I am covered from head to toe. I wear water/wind proof beanie, goggles & facemask. If the plow push snow up and the wind blows it in your face, its pretty bad.

I commuted as well. Trains were dead.
LIRR wasn't even the biggest problem, it was the subway! I never take the subway but with 8f temps, I decided to take it b/c I have a 45 minute walk. The 1 was @ a standstill for 20 minutes between platforms. Meanwhile it was going express and didn't tell anyone and of course, packed.
^I heard from someone there was subway problems & it was crowded. Streets had less people than normal except the annoying tourists which I have mentioned.
I just bundle up and didn't even feel the cold. I even had a 10K race this weekend at Central Park but they cancelled that. I ran in sub zero temperature in the past & I just adjust what to wear....pretty simple *shrug

My perfectly good excuses for not owning a full mask:
- don't ski
- don't own a snowblower
- don't want to look like a robber when going out (did you walk through Manhattan like that or just use a scarf?)
Bottom line, I should've never stayed in NY. The bitter cold is annoying at best.
