Looking to paint the finished basement in my home. Have usually used Benjamin Moore but, would welcome any other opinions/suggestions.

We liked the Aura line. When we switched to Regal with the basement, you could tell a difference.

I've used both Benjamin Moore and the home depot brand Behr and to be honest with you I do not notice the difference. The main difference to me is the $10-15 more the Benjamin Moore costs.
I've painted bedrooms, bathroom, dens, living rooms with each paint and I can't tell the difference. I see no difference in quality between the two.

I recently tried the Clark and Kensington line ACE Hardware sells. It's a very good paint. Good coverage and easy to work with.

Benjamin Moore.........or Pratt and Lambert. I love P&L's "Skylight" for ceilings. The most splatter resistant ceiling paint I've ever used.

I have used Behr Premium in the past. The colors oxidized so rapidly, I had to repaint within two years. The blue turned green, the white yellowed.

My DH has done a lot of painting over the years. DETESTED Aura. Better make sure prep is perfect if you use it.

My DH has been as happy with Behr and Valspar as Ben Moore.

Ben Moore all the way. Aura is expensive but cuts out having to prime. I have painted brand new Sheetrock with the aura line without using primer and it looks fantastic. I have touched up years later and you cannot see the repairs.
The Regal line is great as well but will require priming.

We liked using the Sherwin Williams Harmony line (zero VOC)

Sherwin Williams super paint. The paint quality and colors are great and the company is very customer service oriented. They run sales often so do not pay full price.

Behr would be my next choice.

As an aside I found Valspar semi gloss to be the most difficult to use.

Curious what you mean by that. At certain angles with light hitting it, we can see where the rollers had stopped, but I assumed this was true for all paints. We liked its consistency otherwise.
