The body of Lauren Daverin, an 18-year-old Lynbrook girl, was found on a Rockville Centre footbridge at about 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. Police have officially deemed her death a homicide.
I think the person who found the body was the one who killed her. Conveniently, he was hanging out with her earlier on the day she was killed on that footbridge and then later returned to it with other kids when they found her. Also he keeps making himself available to the media for both video and print interviews. A lot of times the killer likes to get very involved in the investigation and also likes to be in the media spotlight. But we will see . . .

Paiz said the body was naked except for boots and was in a “very awkward position.”
“She looked like she was kind of in a ball, and then there was blood next to the body,” he said.
Sounds like an episode of SVU. That area is known for kids hanging out drinking/smoking. Terrible story. I agree it was most likely one of her friends that did it.
Sad, however she shouldn't have been out drinking. Generally people who get hurt/murdered like this are out doing things they shouldn't be doing. I think it is terrible- don't get me wrong- but if she was just hanging out at someone's house and watching a movie, eating popcorn like teenagers should be doing, this wouldn't have happened. Making not-so great choices (ie. underage drinking, hanging out late etc etc) leads to consequences, sometimes fatal. Heart goes out to her family.
This article doesn't mention that she was drinking but News12 says that she was.

So it is the victim's fault -- not the murderer's?

WOW! Are you seriously blaming the victim? You should be able to leave your house without someone killing you. Kids hang out late, that's what they do. When I was in my teens and early twenties I could literally party all night long. It's part of being a kid. To say the kid is even one iota at fault is mind boggling.

Wrong, the guyS who found her had nothing to do with it.
Something has been fishy since the story broke. A group of kids hanging out together, they all leave and she stays alone? They come back and find her dead?? Hmmm.
