According to this article, house build prior to 2000 are more likely barrier EIFS which has moisture issue.
But after 2000, building ocde requires drainage EIFT which is more expensive but solves water problem.

Anyone in NY who live in a recently built EIFS home can confirm NY building code requires drainage EIFS?

It only solves the drainage issues IF it has been installed correctly.

do *not* buy/build anything with stucco, i am speaking from my own experience.
if u buy an existing house with stucco, be prepare to re-do the siding at some point.
anyone else tells u otherwise is prop. lie or doesn't know.

Yes, other issues could be termite, mold. Anyone in NY experience termite problem with their STucco house?

Termites can be an issue all over Long Island regardless of the siding on your house.

I suppose if you use steel framing, concrete blocks, etc... totally eliminating any wood or wood product, you'd be safe.
