It certainly seems like a very good district overall but I suppose the argument can be made it is one of the "weaker" of the rich north shore districts.

It is not a homogeneous suburb. That's why. The students of the estate workers go to school with the people who own the estates. And the people in the middle.
There are three or four unattractive streets in the whole village. Now, most of the people there are non-native English speakers. Those houses are on the border of Glen Cove. That could bring down performance.
Syosset and Jericho are very intense high schools. There are many Indian, Korean, Chinese, and Islamic students there who study 24/7.
There were always a lot of Jewish students. But these newer immigrants are way more hard core when it comes to studying. All work and no play. Not being bigoted. I am Jewish with an Asian daughter.
My wife's niece graduated from S.H.S. about six years ago. She had a weighted average of 4.0. She was in the bottom half of her class.
I wouldn't want my kids in SHS or JHS. When we lived on LI, my son went to Ward Melville. Even that is a little STEM crazy.
