That's nothing. Our "friends" in Congress (D and R) are already hard at work to disallow income tax deductions for mortgage interest and property taxes. Anything so that the middle class pays more and the upper 1% pays a minimal percentage of their wealth that they cannot spend even if they lived to be 1,000 years old.

So I guess you are advocating that the "rich" pay more so that the untaxed 47% can get better government handouts?

I am advocating that the middle class income taxes stay stable.

PS: If the government handouts get that good, I will "quit" the middle class.

You'll be crying when the Starbucks tax is passed.

When I read today about John Boner's "unspecified" tax loophole closures while keeping tax cuts in place for the top 2%, I immediately knew the House is looking to hose the middle class. These clowns are so predictable. Pitch fork and torch time.

Wanted to add: I think Hicksville and Amityville have some of the lowest taxes and do have decent sections.

Stay where you are, we don't need any more Liberals.

Good. Take it out and reduce the overall rates. In fact, take out ALL deductions, give everyone the same rate, and stop things like the EITC while reducing the overall rates.

Playing the "hide-and-seek" tax code is nonsense.

Oh yeah, that's going to happen. Look, the only folks who are going to be able to afford to live on LI soon are the uber-rich, teachers and police. We pay the highest school taxes in the country. Of course, a Liberal renter doesn't care about that........
