I'm looking for opinions on water jetting waste lines, and also recommendations for someone to do it.
I live in Riverhead, and our waste line is connected to the sewer. About six months ago, we had the waste line rooted. It was the second time in about two years that it needed to be done. This time the plumber put a camera in the pipe and we saw a lot of sludge build up, in addition to seeing where the roots were coming in at the joints. There was also a low spot where the pipe has sagged.
He recommended having it water jetted to clean out the sludge. I didn't have it done, and now water is draining slowly again. So I'm considering having it jetted.
Do you think water jetting is safe for the system, and does it do any good?
What is it likely to cost?
Any recommendations for who to hire?
Obviously, a longer term solution is needed, but we plan to sell the house within the next year, so we don't want to spend too much on it.
