I'm flying in for a conference at the Aria hotel next month? Looks pretty close to the airport. Is it walkable?

No, but a cab or shuttle will only be 10 minutes.

Those cab drivers sometimes wait for hours at the airport to get a fare-paying customer. I hate to use a cab for a 10 minute ride. Is there a shuttle from the airport to the major hotels?

Your only other option is the city bus. It goes directly from the airport to the strip.

There are shuttles available, but it might end up being a long ride, because you'll have to wait for one to fill up, and they often stop at multiple hotels/casinos.

Keep in mind that all of the casinos look like they are close together, but they are not.

Las Vegas is different from other cities. The cabbies are expecting to make quick dashes to the strip, you aren't surprising them. You will understand when you see the Taxi stand at the airport.

Where do you think the vast majority of people arriving at McCarran are going?
