I absolutely HATE HOA's. I have been harassed multiple times by them. It seems they are not even doing what they are paid to do.

It's funny how people complain about HOAs, not realizing that THEY ARE the HOA! If you don't like what's going on in your specific community, then JOIN it and fix the problem. You have to show up to the monthly meetings and be a squeaky wheel... or better yet, get on the board and take control. It's the only way.

I am not the HOA, and have no say on what they do. I rent rooms from people and some have one, and others don't. I recently got harassed about my car leaking oil. I am almost to the point to where I will not move in with anyone that has an HOA.

I know that in my community those problems would be fixed pretty quick.

Default I'm with you

I prefer communities that encourage leaving oil slicks all over the roads. Makes it easier to spin out your tires, which is another past time I think HOA's should encourage.

I would suggest that is not actually an HOA situation. The developer is still in control. That means the HOA is still a wing of the developer.

Got to get past 75% before the developer has to actually turn over control to the residents.

Fix your car then. I personally would not like to look at oil stained streets in my neighborhood. Just saying.
