I'm in the US Air Force and will be moving the Vegas shortly to work at Nellis AFB. I was wondering how practical it would be to live on the Strip (i.e. Manhattan Condo Complex) as far as a commute... from what I hear the traffic is pretty bad in that area... what other areas are practical as far as a commute/nice area? Any help would be much appreciated thanks!

the strip is definatly a busy area. if you need to be driving on las vegas blvd thru the strip it could take you quite a bit to navigate thru but nellis isnt exactly around the block. maybe a 25-30 minute drive....depending on traffic

I suggest you google the address to see what routes to take to get to Nellis. YOU definitely won't take Las Vegas Blvd there are better options.
Living near the strip will be more expensive in some ways and it depends on the life style your looking for and what you think you can afford.
It's a great life style just not for everyone. Good luck

Go west young person..go west...

AF folk rarely live anywhere other than west of Nellis It is possible to live in the SE and commute down the east side...but other than that live west of Nellis.

Any place hear the stip or to its south or even west is difficult.

Make your life easy. 89084, 89130,89131, 89149, 89143

I know people that are stationed at Creech and live in condos on the strip. It should be no problem living on the strip and working at Nellis.

One can live in Los Angeles and work at Nellis.

It is however a problem.

Anyone living on the strip and working at Creech has to allow at least an hour for reporting. And probably more in rush hours. I have on occassion taken an hour to get from the strip to 15. To me that is a problem..

YMMV

I'm sorry but living in the Manhattan or any of those condo complexes down there isn't exactly "living on the Strip". That area is just plain ole suburbs with all the normal restaurants and shopping options the rest of the city has.
