I just booked a package deal on Expedia.com. Round trip flight plus a 3 night stay at the Las Vegas Club Casino on Fremont Street. Got great deal on it. $357 total. I chose this hotel because it was affordable and had a check in policy of 18 and up (Im 20 to thsoe who dont know). Not 21 and up like all the others. MGM Grand was the exception to this but it was too expensive

I'll be staying there from March 16-19.

What is the hotel like and what is the area like? A friend of mine visited VEgas 2 months ago and told me Fremont Street is filled with homeless people. Is this true?

It is a lower end hotel, but it is not dangerous or anything like that. There are lots of homeless downtown, but they will not bother you.

Thats good to know. Wanna see some annoying homeless people LVD? Come to Downtown Orlando, you'll get pestered every couple minutes as you walk down Orange Ave. And cussed out if you dont give them any money.

Fremont Street is suppose to have the "Old Vegas" feel to it right?

My father has a friend of his who's mom worked at the Golden Nugget for like 2o years or something

Thanks LVD very informative post

ANy good affordable restaurants in the area? Anything cheap or free to do either? Downtown or on the Strip?

The homeless people will not harass you because the Las Vegas police have really cracked down it. They also do not allow those idiots who pass out porn on the street. You will be more likely to be harassed on the strip for the simple reason it is not in the same city. I do not know if you are aware of this, but the Las Vegas Strip is not even in Las Vegas. It is in a different area called Paradise that has different laws. As far as affordability, downtown is the place to be. There are plenty of cheap restaurants in the area.

Freemont street is pretty cool with the light shows at night. Lots of cheap places to eat down there. All the buffets I've eaten at are so-so, not great by any means but not gross either.

If you dont wonder too far off Freemont st. the homeless wont bother you. The areas around there are pretty shady, but not you're gonna get shot shady.

I actually did know this. As I had read it somewhere before. Did you know DisneyWorld and Sea World are not in Orlando City Limits? They are in unincorporated Orange County with an "Orlando, FL" address. Same applies for 90% of the tourist area here, with the exception of northern International Drive and Universal Studios

I'll keep that in mind if I do spend any time on the strip. I'll try not to carry too much cash on me around there

you will like the location since it is part of freemont street.... you can imagine the Club as a Holiday Inn.. Not great but not bad either... about 7yrs ago, we celebrated our anniversary in Vegas.. 10 people including us flew out and stayed at the Club... you couldn't beat it 13.95 per night included breakfast.. ahh the good ol days

Im not too big on buffets anymore. Too many bad experiences rushing to the toilet to throw up at 330 in the morning from buffets. Thanks for the tip on the lights shows though

So areas around Fremont wont be like Nellis Blvd and Vegas Valley where that man was randomly shot on his bike right?
