my father that has been here a few years asks me why don't you have heat.

i've lived in phoenix,so i know it can get cold and phoenix is warmer then here.
it's odd to me,but my main reason of asking is,is it legal.
i'm moving into another apartment before the arctic air blows into las vegas ,but i'm just wondering if it is legal.

I have never seen a unit in LV without heat. Sometimes they use a system that circulates hot water from the water heater through a heat exchanger to heat the house. There are also radiant units in walls and floors.

There are also wall units that both heat and cool.

Ask your landlord. I am very curious.

Give it another month. It wont get cold but the nights will start to cool down alot where these open window sessions at night will come to an end.

You might want to take that space heater just in case. It can get very cold and windy.

If you cook, get a crockpot. In a small space, it can make your dinner and keep you warm. It's cheap to run too.

It would be based on the lease that you signed. If the landlord is not stating that there is heat in the apartment then I don't know how it would be a legal issue.
