Hey guys,

After months and months of thinking, I finally decided to let my house go. I was just recently told that in a few months after my project is finished, I will be laid off. My plan is to stay here mortgage free until the bank kicks me out and save what i can.

Anyone know how long this process takes? I heard up to 9 Months.

And when they serve me with the eviction, how many days will I have before I must move out? My goal is to live here as long as I possibly can.

Any ideas?

Thanks..

I hope they kick you out tonight if your plan is not to pay obligations you committed too.

I would speak to an Attorney and/or Accountant so you understand the legal and/or tax consequences.

Have you thought about doing a short sale? A short sale could be an option instead of just letting your home go to foreclosure.

Default Discuss options with your Bank!

Hi,
I really feel for you & your family, before you make a "criminal" decision, please go to your Bank, speak with them n`tell them the situation you are confronted with, ask them to help you in finding an option which would both help you and the Bank.
Your Bank can work with you in finding a suitable solution, but it would be unwise and downright criminal to do what you mentioned.

You owe it to your family, NOT to become criminal in the first place. Be open & honest when visiting your Bank. If I were you, I`d take my family with me when visiting the Bank, show them that you are an honest man and ask for their assistance in solving the problem.

The eviction process is 20 or 25 days from date served. You can file a request for stay and 90% of the time the judge will grant you another 30 days even if you cant pay. Thats your freebee. If you file a second stay request, the judge will rule the other way and tell you to your @ss out.

If you still have a few months to find a job, think positive. It is possible that you will be able to find another job, a lot can happen in a few months. There a jobs out there do not believe everything you read or hear on the news.

As others have said try to talk and work with your lenders. Seems like you still have plenty of times to find a solution other than walking away. If you have to find two lower paying jobs to equal your present pay then do it.

I my eyes living in a house without paying the mortgage is the same as stealing.

Be sure to tell that to the dozens of Community Bank of Nevada employees(among others) who lost their jobs because of people like you.

Your best option is to quit paying your mortgage right now. Then, after 2 or 3 months of being late, they will be willing to work with you. It is unfortunate, but this is the only way to get the bank will to bargain with you. Then you can either try to short sell it, or refinance it. I would also suggest contacting Olecapt as he is more knowledgeable about this than I am.
