Can you just get a Nevada ID card (the one that isn't a driver's license) if you present and want to keep your CA driver's license?
I want to get a Nevada second home, want the Nevada ID but want to maintain my voting, driver's license and tax filing in the left coast of CA.

Any standard answers to be found anywhere on a Nevada site?

You must have a residence in Nevada to do this.

I moved here in March and I had to take in my Calif driver's license and my birth certificate, so you will have to pay the fee to get your birth certificate. Try the NV motor vehicles website for more info!!

Birth Certificates are only required if you fall for the useless hoax known as the Real-ID act - anybody can get anyone else's birth certificate if they are willing to bend a few laws, so it isn't like having a birth certificate really proves who you are. It's just a waste of everyone's time and money.

Here's the Nevada DMV website that says you can opt out of the Real-ID BS and just get a regular driver license: The Real ID Act in Nevada

Save yourself that $50 and the hassle and just say no.

In case you want to read up on just how pointless and wasteful Real-ID is: EPIC - National ID and the REAL ID Act

Um, doesn't that mean you waited 45 minutes?
