Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me with the process of getting all the equipment at best price and getting on a team here in Vegas? I can skate and have played lots of street hockey but parents could never afford to let me play as a kid, Im 26 now and would really like to do something I always wanted to do. I would much appreciate any info that you guys can help me with.

Go to the ice rink and find out when practices take place. Show up and approach the coach with your questions.

Default Re:

Best bang for your buck as far as equipment goes...go to the proshop at the rink, try on equipment, write down the prices, find out who makes it (Bauer, Mission, etc). Then check out www.hockeymonkey.com, www.thehockeyshop.com, etc...(I've ordered from both of these places), and see if they have closeout specials. I've seen helmets, gloves etc, on these sites for under $30.00! A lot cheaper than most pro-shops including shipping. I have not found many stores that carry hockey equipment in the valley, so maybe other Vegas hockey players can assist here. I would check out Fiesta Rancho, as well as the Las Vegas Ice Center - www.lasvegasice.com. They have listings of leagues and when they start up, or post a request on Craigslist that you're looking for a team. Good luck!
