I've decided to throw myself a ridiculous birthday party and was wondering if anyone here has experience with any of the major hotel casino penthouse suites for this purpose. Looking for a place to host about 40-50 people with food and booze provided by myself. I've called the Palms and they have several available from $2500-$3500 that claim capacity for 65. The MGM Skylofts are supposed to get back to me and the same goes for the Hard Rock.

I guess what I am looking for is any feedback from anyone who has participated, hosted, or has been to any of these suites/penthouses and impressions of them. Or any other suggestions of places that might be ideal for this. It's got to meet the following specs; must be for party hosting purposes (such as a regular large suite where a party may disturb neighbors), ability to rent overnight and allow for those who may be too inebriated to drive to spend the night, not exceed any fire code capacities for 40-50 people (thinking 1800 sq ft. min), and not lead to financial ruin.

My thanks for any help.

You've been drinking too much Lexusman water, Red. IMHO, a party like that would be a waste of money, but it's your money to waste. Personally, I'd have my closet friends join me at my favorite cigar lounge (Las Vegas Cigar Lounge on W. Sahara, near Jones) for cigars and scotch. For the most part, I prefer more low key events.

If you still want to do this, call my sister at MGM Mirage reservations. She can probably advise you on what's available. If you're interested, DM me, and I'll give you her name and direct number at reservations. If for some reason that she's unable to help you, contact the sales department of each property that you're interested in, since they normally handle events like yours.

Look into the ones at Planet Hollywood.. I know girls that have used those for wedding receptions that say it's easy to sneak your own food/booze in (most require you to use their food/booze), it has great views, and it includes fun extras like pool tables, etc.

Post Party Update; The Olreans was kind enough to host my event in their Stardust Suite with adjoining Prez suite at a very reasonable price. The service was excellent and the guests were all wowed by the accommodations and the view of the strip. They were even kind enough to slip an invite to Kenny G who was performing there, but he politely declined. I catered everything myself (drinks and appetizers) except the cake, something which no other hotel would allow me to do.

Might post some pics later. If anyone is ever looking to throw a large party I highly recommend the Orleans' Stardust suite. We're already planning on next year's Super Bowl festivities to be there.

Because Lex is a kid who thinks that life in Vegas is one non-stop party, where the women are totally into him, and not his money.

Red: It must be nice to have that kind of money to waste.
