Mines been on at 70 for the past week and I am still cold. In MI I used to keep it at 78....
When we first turned it on it smelled a little bit too, but no alarm, maybe try to blow the vent in the opposite direction.

Came to Vegas to for warmer weather and while it's warmer outside, inside I am freezing my tail off. Don't want to pay the huge electric bill....

Ours have been off and on for about two weeks. They are set for various temps at various times of the day. Usually between 72º when we go to bed and 74º when we are up. At 80º you are asking for a cold or bronchitis. Temps that high will dry out your mucus membranes and cause them to be susceptible to infection. Best to wear something a little heavier than to have it that hot indoors.

I did that last year, but I had a portable heater in my bathroom for those cold morning showers. I'm pretty much gone all day and I like it cold when i go to sleep under my down comforter and my heating pad.

Well, I am sitting here and I am comfortable. Still no heat on. Fortunately, my husband is my portable heater. But when he is not around---brrrrr. Also will help that it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow.

I have two kids with no body fat on them at all (I look at ice cream and gain two pounds, they eat two pounds of ice cream and lose 1/2 pound) so I have had to keep the heat on for at least 3 weeks now. But set at 69, if they say they are cold I point to the blanket closet

LOL, my wife says the same about me. For some reason her feet are always freezing in the winter time, not matter what the heater is set at.

The Admiral and I have a running contest...she turns it up and I turn it down. The women is crazy...she comes in from outside and 20 minutes later the kitchen is at 78 or 80. I turn it back to 70 and she never notices. It is only when she comes in.

We set the front up for 65 or so at night and the back at 68 or so. When we get organized we will program for 66 or so over night with 72 in the AM.
