Is it entirely far-fetched to believe that in 7-10 days, someone could garner employment in Las Vegas, in a front desk position at a casino, hospital, or doctor's office, a casino telephone operator job, a MAC make-up artist job, etc.? An emergency situation has arisen in my family that warrants a move as soon as possible, but I'm concerned that I will be unable to find work...

I'm flexible as to the position, and a hard-worker.

Of course, I'm sensible enough to know that it'd be best to arrange things beforehand, but...under the event that I cannot, what are the chances I'm looking at?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

without knowing your age, education and experience its going to be hard for anyone to give you a glimpse of your chances

Age twenty, 3 yrs college exp., 3.98GPA at a tier one state university with an academic concentration in Earth Sciences & Comp. Engineering, 4 years of computer technician work/custom computer builds and design.

I'm a prospective FAA employee as an air traffic controller in Las Vegas, but unfortunately, the employment process is extremely lengthy, and I can't be accommodated for training for months, upon months (if not another year; that's the way it works). I'd love to work at McCarran to get some related aviation field experience, even as a customer service rep. for an airline or an FBO, but unfortunately, those jobs are very difficult, if not impossible to come by. I've looked, and looked.

I have about 15 years experience in the arts (classical dance/music/performance in general), so any sort of backstage job would be a wonderful experience again (hence make-up artistry), but I'd imagine that there are a lot of folks with full portfolios and stocked resumes fighting for those positions.

Obviously, as a twenty-year-old, I can't tend bars or perform a gaming position, but most of the hotels I've noticed don't have an age requirement for front desk secretarial jobs, as long as one has customer service experience, and conducts themselves professionally.
