Well got another dam n animal thing.

Back door is open. Here a battle with the feral cat in the back yard. Puppy dog goes rushing out along with the Admirial.

There is a 2 and 1/2 lb Chihuahua trying on the old feral who is beating the stuffing out of the Chihuahua. Puppy arrives there goes the feral. Puppy takes one look at Chihuahua decides it is a rodent and eatable. Chihuahan realizes it is in big trouble and triies to climb the Adniral's leg. I arrive to the pandemonium, grab the puppy. Admiral grabs the Chihuahua and peace is restored.

But now we have an immature Chihuahua. Arghhh.

The signs are up. Doors have been knocked...but we still have him. However have two offers to adopt...so maybe OK.

Wife wants to call him Obama. Big ears and brown and white. I have countered with Opus...who went away today.

Off to the vet tomorrow. The feral got him in one paw. I don't think it needs a stitch but it may need protection. And we see if he has a chip. Bet not...he is not fixed either but he may be too young.

We were at PetSmart yesterday (on Rainbow near Lake Mead) and almost adopted a dog. He was a rather large doberman mix with a good disposition. The deal breaker was that he had issues with small dogs (and presumably cats), and we have a senior cat with three legs and no claws on the front paw. I also have an african grey parrot, and didn't want to risk anything there, either...

Well we tried letting him integrate. It is not going to work easily. It is reasonably clear the maine coon is going to eat him.

I think puppy will be OK. He still looks at him like a rodent but he has taken under advisement that he may be a dog.

But the Maine Coon has decided it is a treat that we are teasing him with and is merely waiting to he is allowed to off it and eat.

Gonna have to watch close for a while.

The little guy however is scrappy so it may work.

Nah I am fond of Sprite, the puppy and Samson the big maine coon.

The chihuahua is bedded down in the guest bath. Samson is hunkered down in full crouch right outside the door waithing for his snack to show itself.

Gonna be one tough chihuahua if he survives.

Went to vet. Pure chihuahua. Less than 6 months old. 2 lbs 2 oz. Appears healthy.

Signs are up. Lists checked and two neighbors have volunteered to take him.

Opus is on my lap and Samson is on the desk eyeing him. Both Samson and Opus know what Samson has in mind. I don't think they are going to be playing together outside any time soon.
