I just got a job offer at 1 of the casinos here. Currently live in MI at 1 of the casinos there. I have a wife and 3 children that are relocating with me. I think the best thing to do is rent. Any ideas to where? Any help would be great!! I'm very excited about the move, however only been there for vacations......not to live. Thanks!!!!

Just moved here from MI. Lived in Sterling Heights, grew up in Ferndale.

I moved a 14 yo daughter here. We live in Henderson. My husband works at City Center which is located on the strip.

What casino will you be working in? What are your children's ages/grades?

Also depends on what you can afford for housing.

Good luck!

Congratulations!!! I just moved here from Ohio with a 10 year old. If I were you I'd rent first so you can check out different neighborhoods. If you find something you like I'd buy it because it's clearly a buyers market! I wish I could afford to buy now. lol

Check out the crime map at....

Crime in Las Vegas

Consider any of the green and yellow zips. Consider where your Casino is located. Make your commute easy. Renting first is a reasonable strategy but try to pick a permanent area. Even 10 year olds dislike changes schools once established. So think about what you can afford when you decide to buy and head toward those areas. If you are quite well paid you can head for nice Henderson...Green Valley, Anthem, Seven Hills. or on the west side you can go for Summerlin. A little lower price point you can do the SW, N, NW or near Summerlin Best buys in terms of larger homes with good schools and low prices are in the NW... presently a healthy rental market as well.

Big teaching hospital. Main trauma center for Vegas. Only place to go if you are hurt real bad.

Located in an area just to the west of the strip and at the north end.

Local housing is workable. Schools generally are not. Actually walk to work from some of the cities best, but expensive, housing. Moderate housing is also workable though the schools are a problem.

Typically UMC people will live to the west. Summerlin, near there and the NW.
