I don't live in Vegas, but I've visited there 3 times. The very first time was in December of 1977, when I was 21. My father and I drove there, and I remember he took me out to dinner and a show. Well... I forgot which hotel it was in, and I'm sure he didn't know when he paid for the tickets, but it turned out to be some sort of a show with a French theme, and the dancers (all women) were topless!

Look everybody, I was there once. I came close to being banned because I complained so loundly about so many of my posts being edited and deleted by so-called overzealous moderators here.
Let me tell you this, though, a loosely moderated message board gets out of control quickly. There were a whole bunch of us who defected over to this other board made up of C-D misfits and those who were fed up with the strict moderation. It was liberating and we all had fun for awhile. BUT, so many flame wars erupted with hardly anybody there to put out the flames. The discussions suffered from thread drift with a lot of hijacked and off-topic conversations distrupting the threads. The individual forums were a mess because of the lack of moderation.
Today, that forum only has a handful of active members left while City-Data forums just grows and grows. A true testament of what can happen to a forum with loose guidelines and lack of moderation ...AND, what happens when we try hard to keep threads trimmed and on-topic with a good set of forum rules here at C-D.
So fellow Nevadans, call me a Nazi if you wish. But all I'm trying to do is to keep City-Data a popular place that is fun for everyone and a good place to participate for all; visitors and members alike.
edit: And, 2goldens and I both agree that this thread should be in the LV forum. I'm going to be my Hitler-like self and move this thread back over to the LV forum as a sticky within the next few days. *Heil Hitler!*
But really, everybody, comparing something as insignificant as an internet message board to what Hitler and the Nazis did is rather offensive.

I could see the reaction of embarrassment on my father's face.. it's not the kind of show you'd take your son to! We didn't stick around and watch the entire show, just the first 15 - 20 minutes or so. But the dinner they served before the show was good.
