anyone here living in another state and working there but has a home in las vegas? How is it? How often do you visit your home in vegas? do you have someone watching over your residence? Do you go every other weekend or once a month?

Strange question. I can answer it but just the opposite of what you ask. I live and work in LV and have 5/8th acre of lake front property in south Texas. My neighbors watch it for me. I have a 32' fifth wheel I park on it on a slab with electric and water. It is against the POA rules to park RVs on your property but since I rebuilt the community dock at no charge after Hurricane Rita destroyed the deck of it they let me slide.

When you drive into my subdivision you can look up at the houses and see the curtians moving. Everyone is looking out for strange cars driving in.

We visit and stay there maybe 6 times a year for a week or so at a time. For now all it cost me is $22 ($11 San Jancinto County tax and $11 school tax) a year for property taxes and $20 a month POA fees which include mowing my entire lawn. It costs about $11 a month to keep the electric meter even if no electric is used. If we stay a week in the heat of summer it might cost $19-20 that month for electric.

Everything is looked after for me and I love it that way. And I can smell my cool clean lake breezes now..................

I still have my townhouse in Utah (won't sell). Luckily, I have great neighbors who are watching it for me.

My family and I currently live in NY, and have owned Real Estate in Vegas since 2003. Best decision we ever made.

It has not been a problem maintaining the property - I myself am usually out there at least twice a year, my mother is out there about two or three times a year, and the rest of the year is sporadic with other family members or friends using it for vacation. My upstairs neighbor (we're in a condo) is fantastic about it; of course she likes it more when one of us is actually there for a while.

We also have a family friend that lives about 10 minutes down the road, so she stops in to check on the place once in a while.

The utilities are a drop in the bucket compared to back east (even when we are occupying the place), so it's really not a big issue.

I wish I could visit it once a month... someday when I'm extravagantly (sp?) wealthy, perhaps? LOL!

If you are wondering if it can be easily done, absolutely! Tons of people do it, including several here on the C-D board.

Good Luck!
