Good to know, but why does that say it's illegal to walk your dog on the Strip, but it's OK on Las Vegas Blvd? They're both the same street. I've never heard it's illegal to walk a dog on the Strip, and I've done it before. I've never seen a sign. I won't do it again though just because there are too many people and it makes my dogs nervous.

We find that anywhere we go these days we can find pet friendly hotels. We took them to Prescott last fall and even found a local dog park. But I don't think the dogs like to travel anyway so we usually get a sitter. Makes us feel guilty though.

You are under the impression that dogs on leashes don't bite people or other dogs?
Dogs are actually more prone to fight when on a leash. Probably because they feel trapped and can't reason that the other dog is on a leash too. Letting them get close enough to get the leashes tangled is asking for a dog fight.

We are dog and cat friendly in Henderson so long as you don't do stupid crap:
1. It is hot here. Do NOT tie your pets outdoors in the summer. In 5 minutes they will die.
2. Do not allow your pets to roam free.
3. If you are walking your pet and it dumps on my landscape, please clean up after it. I don't expect you to scrub every rock or wash down the concrete but at least pick up the pile.
4. Also, be advised that on days like this when it is 112 degrees, you should only walk pets early in the morning or after 10PM because the concrete is too hot for their feet.

Get the males neutered. It's better for them and it's the responsible thing to do. Then get a pet fancier's permit.

Contact Clark County Animal Control at (702) 455-7710 to set up an appointment to apply for a pet fancier’s permit for cats or dogs, and to schedule an inspection of your property. The permits cost $50 and must be renewed annually. A condition of the permit is to allow a scheduled inspection of your property each year by an Animal Control regulation officer. All dogs or cats must be sterilized to qualify for this permit. The permit allows up to six dogs, one year of age or more, or 10 cats, 8-months-of-age or older. All animals are required to have microchip identification implants with microchip numbers registered with Clark County Animal Control

More seriously.....it's a very pet friendly area [unless 2 dawgs, 3 cats and an indeterminate # of rabbits is why the neighbors don't speak to us.]
I sure miss this guy.

We will be out there in the fall looking at some houses in Henderson. Prefer Silverado Ranch although I guess that it technically LV. Anyway, one of our requirements is a decent backyard. Not necessarily huge, but big enough for the dog, a rambunctious Boston Terrier, to run around in. Grass would be nice, but that's something I can put in.

It's nice to hear that there is good veterinary care out there. I'll probably ask for some recommendations for a vet once we finally get all settled in.

Default Have your head examined nut job

Better to have verbal control than have a dog on a leash ????? Thats about as insane a statement as I have ever read. Your not worth another typing line.

From the Clark County Animal Control FAQ

Quote:
Restraint
All pets must be restrained to the property of the owner, or on a leash.
Note that it says 'all pets', not 'all dogs'.
