As titled.

Preferably, the most scenic route, avoiding interstates whenever feasible. I don't want to extend the trip for too long by taking desolate routes, but if I can still get there in a reasonable amount of time whilst seeing natural wonders, I'd be doubly pleased.
The trip will be made sometime between January to March, if this should affect the route in any way.

Also, is there anything I should definitely see along the way? Any tiny diners I absolutely must stop for? Other?

Ideas?

Once you're in NM and near Albuquerque it gets to be scenic.
Not much other than I-40 into Nevada.

You could do a small detour just pass Santa Rosa NM and go North on US 84 into I-25 and Las Vegas New Mexico. There you can spend driving around Las Vegas (NM) and continue on into Santa Fe. Stop there to get a good look.
Snow might be an issue during that time of the year....

Once into Kingman AZ I would not take US 93 into NV and Hoover Damn.
It can get very congested at the Damn. I would go if you really must see it.
Otherwise, continue just pass Kingman and exit AZ 95 just before the California state line. Take a tour to Oatman AZ and old mining town on old route 66.
From there head over to Laughlin and head North to Las Vegas.

I would probably disagree about the dam....I do the route from LV to Kingman and back frequently and never have a problem in either direction.....if you DO go across at Laughlin and up through Searchlight.....the Searchlight Nugget has GREAT food.....

How about old Route 66? That's what I had to take in 1964 'cause there warn't no interstates.
