We're staying on the strip in September and would like to know where to go shopping for bargains. We're not hiring a car so we're reliant on public transport/taxis.

Also, how's the best way to get tickets for Cher? At the Ceasars Palace box office?

Check out the Las Vegas Outlet Center(formerly Belz), on Warm Springs and Las Vegas Blvd.

Las Vegas Outlet Center

Also look into the Premium Outlet Center on Grand Central over by Charleston and I-15.

Las Vegas Premium Outlets

Anything else around the strip will be quite a bit more expensive.

I see you are from England. I always find it funny that when people come to visit the US they go to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I met a woman from Iceland while I was living in Germany and those were the only two places her American husband took her. I wished he would have shown her some of the more beautiful places in the US. Ok I'm sure that I have offended someone now.

Anyway, enjoy your stay.

40+ years ago I was stationed in N.E. France in the Air Force....we went, every couple of weeks to the open market in the City of Nancy.
We bought coffee and spices from a booth run by two guys from French Equatorial Africa.
When we first met them they asked [in French since they spooke not one word of English] where we were from. I replied "Las Vegas". This was met with the brightest smile I jhave ever seen and the words "LAS VEGASSSSS".....not one word of english but he KNEW Las Vegas.

Default Vegas

bepperoo, I've not only visited Vegas but I've travelled all over New York, Massachusetts, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C and Arizona. You assume the only place I've visited is Vegas. Next year I'm going to travel around Florida, South carolina, Main and Rhode Island. My ambition is to visit every state.

I've also travelled round France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Japan, China, Malay, Thailand and Viet Nam.

Oh sorry. I wasn't trying to insult or assume anything. I was just reminded of this woman. I'm so happy you have seen so many other states!

Default Hi Bepperoo

Hi Bepperoo, I didn't take offence, I just wanted a chance to brag about my travels in your beautiful country. This is our fourth visit to Vegas and we can't wait. We don't gamble, we just love the desert, the mountains, the lakes - Oh yes and the people.
Take care, Allan

You may have mistaken the dice-shaking motion. It is, after all, very close to another hand motion that can be gotten very easily in Sin City.
