Greetings- been checking out the posts for awhile, and seems like I might good some good direction here. I'm moving Vegas way from - yep - So Cal and I am in the live music engineering field. I'm the guy at the concert or show moving all the little buttons around for those who don't know what I'm talking about...of course then you probably couldn't help anyway...

So I'm wondering: I know there's alot going on in my field there, but is it union, in-house casino staffed, outside production companies? Can a freelancer compete and stay busy? No one has asked that here that I saw...

Sorry I'm not a hot bartender. What I am though is a damn good lookin' bartender who kicks ass behind the bar! but that's another thread.

Anybody know about the gigs I'm talking about?

And before I hear it - I don't care if this sheriff dude likes me or not - I'm still comin'

Thanks

88D ?? That is a mighty large chest I'd say. But what on earth is a Neve? Maybe the thing that holds them?

Sheriff is ok. People get too mad at him too easy.

There used to be a ton of corporate gigs, where money was no object. It has been my experience the long-running shows use both their own, and in house people. The guy you want to contact is Chip Lightman. An audiophile, producer, and manager. He has been partners with Danny Gans for years, produced Tina Turner, and done numerous Broadway shows. He has many ongoing projects, and would be the guy to seek out. I can't give you his number, but it's available.

I would try looking up all our major hotels online and take a look at the employment section.

I know a couple of people that do the same thing you do...they are employees of the property in which they work. In other words...if they work for the Blue Man Group production, they are Venetian Hotel employees.

I'm not sure about the union issue though

But at least you can start your research that way..also, consider working in a studio here in Las Vegas...

Take a look at some of these...worth a phone call, application or email
