I'm not familiar with that part of town, I'll have to check it out. I pretty much stay north of West Charleston.

Ah, Leatherby's! I worked there for like 4 years as a waiter while in college. It's a real mom and pop operation - they make their own ice cream, which is excellent. Their claim to fame are the gigantic sundaes. I recommend the Peanut Butter Cup sundae. They keep a crock pot of melted peanut butter and pour it over the ice cream, then top it with hot fudge, which they also make themselves.

The owner is a wierd dude, and the place has its quirks, but the food is good quality and you won't find sundaes like theirs anywhere else in town. It's a good place to take a date to share a dessert after dinner or a movie.

Didn't John Belushi say "cheeboogy, cheeboogy"?

They do make enormous sundaes with interesting toppings, but don't you find it to be sort of a scuzzy place?

Ever try Luv-it?

I certainly do Luv-it!

Leatherby's has the same furniture, broken video games, and 3 oz. water cups that they did when I worked there back in the late 90's. It's not a corporate behemoth like Cold Stone, but I never thought of the place as dirty.
