Can anyone tell me the difference climate-wise for Vegas compared to south Florida? What is the day time temperature in Vegas from October through April?

Thanks

It's very temperate in Las Vegas in the late fall through early spring. The best time of year!

Average High/Low Temperatures for KLAS : Weather Underground

Cooler than South Florida in December January February...can freeze rarely does. Palms are OK so it does not get very cold for very long.

One has really high humidity and temps in the 90's in the summer. Along with hurricanes and tropical storms and gigantic bugs.
The other has low humidity and temps in the 100-110 range in the summer. Monsoons bring in some humidity in July and August but not the thick stuff you can't breath in. Only gigantic bugs are the gross desert cockroach.

Are your only comparisons of Fla. to Las Vegas the weather? If so, in Fla. if you're past the freeze line, you'll have a warmer winter. You will also have that yucky high humidity. If you'd like to compare other issues of the two, they are easy to point out.

The other posters have given you great answers in regards to living in Las Vegas. Since I live in south Florida now and just returned from a trip to Vegas, I can tell you that (in my experience) the humidity is much, much lower and more comfortable in general. During the summer, you will probably need a bottle of water if you are walking around a bit, but other than that, you should be fine.

The difference is that in Vegas you don't get sick as a dog from humidity at any time. We have NO HUMIDITY. But I'm sure that doesn't mean anything unless you have experienced how pleasant NO HUMIDITY is compared to ALWAYS HIGHLY HUMID as it is in all parts of Florida, and for that matter, all states east of the Rockies. But Florida is the absolute worst in terms of humidity and that's what make it such a miserable place to be at any time. Today our humidity went up a little...from three percent to five percent. It has never at anytime in the history of the world been even within 30 points of that low in any part of Florida.
