HELP........I'm tired with the main stream, house/hip hop pumpin music
of the ultra vegas lounges. Where can I go to swing dance or dance
to the sounds of the ratpack, harry connick Jr, or Michael Buble' stuff?

I can only find ratpack shows where I need to buy tickets and watch
a floor show. I want to slow dance with my date not fight among a drunken
twenty something crowd. Love the ultra scene, but I need a change.

The problem is that ther are more 20 something club hoppers out there than the rest of us and those who aren't 20 something club hoppers are looking for the 20 somethings. I was hoping the hubs and I could find this kind of lounge when we got there but judging from this it doesn't look good. So where does a 30 something couple who has no interest in loosing their hearing and wants to hear old vegas style music go? I feel like I am a little too old and wayy too mature for the club scene! Maybe when the hubs and I get there in August I'll look into forming some kind of group get togethers with people who prefer a voice and a band over techno mixed and fixed eardrum blowing teeny boper "music". Not that I don't appreciate it when appropriate, but some people want to have a conversation with their drinks and a close dance with the one they love from time to time.

The Stirling Club's piano lounge at Turnberry Place is exactly like this - but you have to join the Stirling Club to get in.

I wish there was a similar place on the Strip, too - seems like a good opportunity for an entrepreneur. "Bing Crosby's" restaurant in Walnut Creek, California is a good model for it.

Of course, such an establishment won't pull in the L.A. drug dealers and pseudo-celebrities who drop $10,000 a night on Gran Patron, and since that very small market of free-spending thugs seems to be what every Strip nightclub is set up to cater to, the entrepreneur may have to look to an off-Strip property like Green Valley Ranch or Red Rock to find a site.
