It really doesn't matter. Sisolak can keep the Strip closed, but rebellion is happening all over the valley. I mean open, flaunting, sticking the middle finger at Sisolak type of rebellion. People have just, for the most part, tuned Sisolak out at this point. The Las Vegas Valley will get back to normal when the citizens en masse decide to do so. All Sisolak will be able to do is follow the crowd.

I can't say for sure this is true because I wasn't around back then but I have been doing some reading about WWI and the influenza pandemic. The worst 'wave' of infection was in 1919 and I read one theory that at least some of it was caused by infected people celebrating the end of the war. My grandmother was a young adult during the pandemic and their only defense was avoiding crowds and people in general.

Both my mom and grandmother were around during the polio epidemic. It spread more during hot weather so all the pools were closed and the kids stayed home to avoid exposure. Mom said she had quite a few lost summers but she and her 6 siblings were not infected.

Las Vegas is all about gaming, entertainment, and crowds from all over the world. A perfect storm for spreading a virus. My thought is that regular businesses will open first and all the casinos and entertainment venues will stay closed for a while longer. Then they will monitor the virus and see what happens before they make decisions about the tourist attractions.

My friend who died on March 24th was a dealer. Right now, we think but are not positive that he was infected on Chinese New Year when he was called in to work a private party of visiting high rollers from China. After that he worked more than a dozen shifts handling cards and dice before he actually got sick. He went to a house party on March 8th and jammed with local musicians. And yes...they all shared equipment/microphone. How many people did he infect? The CDC is working on it and they are doing amazing work tracking the cases. You don't need a degree in epidemiology to figure out he could have been responsible for a lot of cases. A dealer with the virus is certainly a worst case scenario.

I cannot go for a year and a half without toilet paper!!! It's bad enough that I still cannot find that and paper towels. Also hard to find bottle purified water and dish washing liquid, and I really do not want to have to revert to shampoo like tijlover did to wash my dishes.

I've been to Costco several times in the last few weeks. They have all the items you just described and more.

No credible source needed...

It’s because of leftists like this guy:

Too much terrible content not backed by fact, studies, or doctors to quote here.

Same thing in California. Already there have been multiple street race gatherings, each with hundreds of participants. If they get a month more of actual lockdown, they are lucky. I can’t imagine it sticks any longer than that in a state as independent minded as nevada.

I’m guessing none as it would be front page news if one did.
