As for the school system--talk about hoops!! To be hired on as a teacher or sub, you have to have a minimun of a bachelor's degree, but there are support jobs that require no degree. They have the salary range posted on the CCSD website, they hours are good, the benefits are good..if you have a degree all the better--sign on bonus as well as summer's off...

Not I. If you've been unemployed here for 8 months--- why move now? I am very envious, as unemployment is my ultimate goal, and you have an 8 month jump on me--- you lucky devil.

I guess this is a funny subject to you. You think this is a joke! People are having a hard time finding employment.

Don't mock US!

I wont laugh at ya. Im not unemployed but I know what it is like out there. I try to live my life by putting myself in others shoes to feel how they feel.

In this forum you have several people who fight with their balls and their blood to defend what is not worth defending. It is indeed bad out there. I had 2 full time and 1 part time people for almost 2 years as I grew. I no longer need them. Every type of business is down now except health care and fast food restaurants.

You know things are bad when the strongest companies are closing stores like Home Depot and Starbucks and the like. Even McDonalds is closing restaurants. We never seen anything like that. Even our own local store Sheplers Western Wear just bit the dust after being a LV second word around here for decades.

The others are right though. With a skill you could find a job here. Not very long ago the word was out. Vegas is paradise. Jobs grew on trees. We had the highest high school drop out rate because a kid can quit 10th grade and go out to find a $15/hr job. No more. Vegas is a service industry and a retail industry and traditionally no matter where you are or how great the economy is....it pays crap.

Dont bother with those employment agencies. They are all minimum wage. A few seek out skilled people but not many. Some companies only hire temps to kinda test them out before hiring them permanent. That is absolutely true for the Nellis AFB who hire civilian jobs. They dont hire from anywhere but the temp agencies.

Forget the casinos unless you want to come home smelling like you were on fire every day and end up dying young from cancer. Normally anything in the construction industry is always a good place to start but the demand is minus zero now for that too.

Sorry man I dont have any advice for you. If you are free to roam there are several places in the country that are experiencing growth, including
appreciating home values. Unlike this cesspool.

Are you eligable to collect unemployment? Geez I hope so.

Good luck to ya.
