Nice to know that you care about the youth of tomorrow. Most of the children who grow up here do not plan to work in the casino industry. Believe it or not, kids still do have dreams and ambitions. Why should they suffer because you have given up on the system. Stop lumping everything and everyone together.

I am not gonna argue with you on this one. Our schools SUCK. Thats all there is to that one. I can't believe I am about to say this.... Sheriff, I agree. The casinos won't help either. We are paying more for sales tax then they are in gaming tax, and they wanna whine because we want to raise it 3%.

You people come to this city and just ***** about how the casinos should pay for this and pay for that and how we should raise taxes cause thats the only answer to all these problems. The problem is not the schools its bad parents raising bad kids, people who cant afford to have kids but have them anyway and people who have kids that they can afford but are to busy with there own lives to care what there kids are up to. This city is turning into a mini LA if you want to go somewhere nice to raise a family try Boise, Vegas is a 21+ city baby.

Yes, but those 21+ do have babies too!!

Seriously, though, if it is about parenting, as you suggest, then it wouldn't matter where they were raised. (Maybe wishful thinking cuz I have to move there soon and I have a 14 yo daughter!)

Nevada is very low in terms of the money invested in each student. What is it you find incorrect about fixing that?

Sure there are other problems. But more, better paid teachers will certainly help.

Dreams and abitions do not warrant education, as the lowest food service worker, to casino mogul require NO education in LV. Service workers, are service workers, whether it be casinos, hookers, strippers, realtors, civil servants, waitresses, salesmen, or entrepreneurs of any type. Money, money, money is reality.

What a sad world you live in Sheriff where all you see is the almighty dollar. These kids do not just belong to Las Vegas they belong to the USA and can make choices. Yes some will make the wrong choices in life but at least they have the opportunity and education to do that.
Again I ask you to do something for your community to make it a better place so you will not have to bad mouth every little thing there is. It will make your heart a little lighter and maybe you will sleep better at night with yourself.

Doesn't matter where I live, but I live in Summerlin. And before you attack me about that, we are not rich, never have been rich and like most people we live paycheck to paycheck nowadays. I have always been a community volunteer even when we lived back in Ohio. I want my children to be community givers too.
Don't even say that I never leave the community. As a sub for the CCSD I travel around to schools of varying income levels. Kids at the elementary level are all the same. I do my best to make a difference in their lives in the short amount of time I get to share with them. When I look at kids I see their potential, what do you see? Oh yes that's right, you see strippers, casino workers and the future derelicts of society.
I know I may not lift the cloud of anger that has built up over your eyes and you may think I see the world through rose colored glasses, but I can guarantee I am a much happier person than you are because of the choices I have made in my life.

Bad mouth EVERY little thing---- school arsonists, pedophiles, rapists, and robbery victims are LITTLE things---keep up the good job of teaching valley children.
