No. It's people who don't have a skill set or a trade, and who never valued education. The middle class in California are doing fine. I'm a middle class Californian and I have no plan to leave this state, even upon retirement.

Nevada and Arizona attract the following kind of people from California:

-- No skills, no specific trade
-- Minimal education / no education
-- Need to make as much money as possible, as rapidly as possible
-- Cannot make sound financial decisions
-- Want a flashy wardrobe or new car every 6 months
-- Looking for 24-7 entertainment options
-- Live beyond their means
-- Don't want to pay taxes and view social investments as outside of their scope of responsibility
-- Don't believe that their decisions effect others and vice versa

Ironically, many of these people are also on some type of public assistance (Social Security, VA, Medicare, EBT, GR, Disability, retirement, pension etc.)

This list doesn't typify the Nevada native, or longtime local who's lived in Nevada or Arizona for decades. Usually, those people see what's wrong with the system in their respective states but have little-to-no ability to change things because of the hordes of transplants that arrive and counter their views.

...Really? ...And this is the "nice" part of Las Vegas??? Sorry, but I'd be looking into Mesquite at this point, if I were the OP.
You don't seem to grasp the humor expressed by those who live in Las Vegas.

And may I ask why you are posting critical comments from over there in La-La Land?

Same reason people from Las Vegas and Nevada come to the California forum to critique us. Several of them do very often. SportyandMisty is most prolific in doing so. I think it's fine.

I visit Las Vegas at least 8 or 9 times a year. About half of that is to do follow up work with agencies and the other four times are because I have family in Henderson. I may go once or twice a year strictly to catch a show or try a restaurant.

If you wish to criticize LA, then by all means, please feel free! ...Lord knows everyone does at some point!

So you don't live here. Thanks. I'm not SportyandMisty and I don't criticize LA except when LA is criticizing LV when LA doesn't live here.

Remember, kind of like the advice if you are with a friend and get chased by a bear, all you need to do is run faster than your friend. As for homes, you just need to make your home less inviting than someone else's home.

True, I suppose a burglar would be startled or at least think twice if there was a dog. Good analogy with the bear, my poor neighbors won't have all the security measures in place that I will so that may happen.

Meanwhile, CA is out pricing their underclass. Do the math.

I agree and have seen lot's of properties scooped up by all cash investors over the years. Sad but true that in the end, it's all about the $$$.

Agree to some degree that Vegas attracts many of those people but I would say not just from California but from a bunch of states. Some people seem to get stuck in Vegas. I personally have lived in CA my whole life and will be moving to Las Vegas in two weeks, but not because of any of the reasons you mentioned. It's because the cost of living is lower. My money goes much further in Las Vegas than So Cal., simple as that. Summerlin is one of the safest areas but burglary seems to be the crime of choice.

Something from on of our Neighborhood Watch captains.

Quote:
Some interesting facts presented by our NWAC Captain Sasha Larkin prior to Randy’s presentation:
Since 1/1/18 to 8/27/18
- Residential burglaries up 9% - 89% of all crimes have occurred in an area without Neighborhood Watch.
- Auto burglaries down 11%
- Robberies down 11%
NWAC is North West Area Command. We are in Sun City Summerlin. Our NW people regularly attend meetings there.

Nosy neighbors are the best. I keep strange hours, and was up at two AM the other night. There were teenagers outside that were up to no good. I coughed loudly to announce my presence and they took off. Stolen car found in our lot the next day. Just a bunch of stupid kids on a joyride, but I’m sure the car owner was happy to have their vehicle back.

I knew exactly what I was getting into when I moved to this complex, but I always try to steer newcomers to the safer areas.

Yeah, I'm sure it's completely impossible any rational person could take one look at CA's completely broken social welfare state with sky high taxes and little to show for it and want to leave to a better state, especially when one of the best states (ok, THE best, by far) is sitting right next door a few hundred miles away from Los Angeles. What are you smoking and is that free now in L.A.? I lived in LA for 5 years, I couldn't wait to leave, it was a horrible cesspool of a city. The crushing taxes were met by crushing cost of living and some of the worst people in a city I've ever personally seen. There is nothing desirable about that place, even the weather is overrated. It's not very nice most of the year, unless you consider 60s to be nice, which I don't. I consider 60s to be mediocre and not swimming weather, so it's a whole year of perfectly fine, mediocre weather, with very little good weather and too much rain in the winter. And that's the BEST feature of CA is the weather, which is meh.

I know plenty of people who fled CA for Vegas, and most of those people have a lot of money and successful careers. They didn't leave because they were struggling to pay the bills in CA, they just didn't feel like dealing with liberal morons every day of their lives who haven't ever met a tax they didn't like.

If you can't see how broken your state is, you must be blind.

I am one of those liberal morons you just insulted. I’m liberal / libertarian. You do understand that there are real people behind these screen names, and many of us know each other in real life?

Have a nice day.
