This may sound silly but for those of you who work at the Venetian as a cocktail waitress, how do you like it? I'm specifically interested in the opinion of girls at the bottom of extra board (they have it the hardest since the older cocktail waitresses seem to despise younger, new ones).

Do management and cocktail servers get along ( I'd imagine so since it's non union)? I got an invite to interview. It's no guarantee that I'd even get it but I was just curious. I don't want to even waste my time interviewing at property with poor employee morale or where the older servers are vicious. Been there/ done that. I'd rather be a cashier at Walmart than deal with that again.

Yes, I'm already a cocktail waitress at a great property and everyone I've worked with Is very nice (very rare for the strip) but Venetian is the highest rated Casino resort on the strip with 5 diamond/5 star Forbes rating. Anyone would be lucky to have them on the resume if it's a good work environment

Ps: obviously I can't ask LinkedIn connections because they'd lie and say it's great out of fear

That's life in the casino industry. Every joint has morale issues, bad management and employees full of drama. I stay out of shark infested waters because I simply dont swim with the sharks. Don't let the negative personal in the industry stop you from making a living.

Depends which casinos. I suspect that the places that seem to have unattractive ones also tries to hire cute ones but they don't stay long. Unattractive girls aren't a threat to the ones past their primes so they have it easier. But What does that have to do with anything? They're still doing well for doing such an easy job.

Thank you. Probably not where you meant to go with this but what you said about staying out of shark infested waters really does make a lot of sense. I was just curious about what it's like over at Venetian but staying where I am is probably for the best since I'm actually kind of happy.

I worked at the Venetian for five years and it was a positive experience but I moved on when the opportunity presented itself. My brother in law is a day one employee in table game management and plans to stick it out as long as they will have him. Its all dependent who you work and associate with. Personally I will take comfort over money any day in this crazy industry.

I would never hire anyone that had anyone to do with Venetian or Palazzo. I think that would look awful on a resume unless the reason for leaving the job said something like "I couldn't stand the thought of working for Sheldon Adelson anymore. I have too much respect for myself."

Why not?? It's a highly regarded property and don't they only hire the best? And since they're not Union, one can assume that they reward and promote on performance And not simply based on seniority?

Yes...why? Because you have a personal or political issue with Sheldon Adelson? Well, I would think that your average CW won't even meet him.
