my development is finished. As someone else mention it is the start time that surprises me thats all.

I moved here from MA ( very happy here ) but in MA there were town restrictions as to what times you could make other than normal noise. for example you could not run a chain saw at 5 am on a saturday. typically after 7 pm most anything was ok. I was just shocked when on a saturday at 5:30 AM they were making enough noise to wake me up

AS I said in my post I understood that they needed to start early due to the heat but I was a little surprised that 5:30 on a weekend was ok

again my development is finished it is on a piece of land next to my development

Twoeeyy,

What municipality are you in (City of Vegas, North LV, Henderson, unincorporated Clark County)? If you want the real answer to your original question, that's an important issue, since any noise ordinance will likely be imposed at the local level.

Here's what I did. We have a development going in on a piece of land next to us (not our developer).

I asked a bunch of my neighbors what they thought, and we were unanimous that the early start time of heavy earth moving equipment (5am or so) was a nuisance.

So, I met with the president of the developer building new houses and asked if they could start a bit later.

His response?

"Why of course. We had the subcontractors starting early because I thought you would just prefer to have all the construction noise done as soon as possible - sort of like pulling off a Band-Aid. We're happy to start later. Is 7am OK? Please note that with a later start time our final completion date may be impacted."

My point is that sometimes a respectful & reasonable conversation has a positive outcome.

Clark County does have a noise ordinance, but it specifically excludes construction during daylight hours.

There's an estimated 24,000 night shift workers in this city, and if anyone should complain, like me sleeping from 10am to 6pm every day, it should be us!

But I built a bedroom with in my bedroom with soundproof walls.
