As I am needing a vehicle, I decided to look at the dealerships at the automall after I swapped out my weld tank. I loathe dealerships here. They set up the lots as a maze so there's only one exit. You have no time to get out and look at the window sticker without 15 salesmen jumping in your face. They refuse to put a big price on the windshield. I'm definitely not going to buy a new car.

You can buy a car from out of state (Southern California). The LA Times is a good source for "one at this price" deals. I have not personally bought a new car from California but from what I understand, you pay a transfer fee then pay taxes and registration fees once the car comes to Nevada. I understand that Costco has a discount car buying service if you don't like haggling

I feel the only way to get a good deal is to go to California... I'm also looking and am contemplating a lease since there have been some amazing deals lately... none of which I was able to replicate in Las Vegas unfortunately

The last time I bought a car it was sight unseen through a guy who goes to the dealer auction. I let him know what I wanted to pay, and what car I wanted. He put in the bid. Worked out well.

I concur on the California dealers. Just bought a car in Long Beach and saved close to 5k over Fletcher Jones.

Can you elaborate on the fees to get the vehicle to Vegas?

They do, as does truecar.com.

What is the best way to sell a use car here? I have a pickup I don't need.

Do not buy a car at the showroom. Do everything via e-mail and internet chat.

I bought a Honda and took $4800 off MSRP. I also negotiated for the dealer to pay registration fee around $400 and 2 years of oil changes.
