That isn't what the quote says. Abboud says there is "no truth" but his boss is the source in those national publications complete with interviews with Adelson.

The R-J has made the assertion that Adelson doesn't want equity on both sides of Adelson's national media parade that says otherwise. Remember that ridiculous "I am only doing this in the interest of community development" from Adelson? If not, it's here - reviewjournal.com/business/stadium/adelson-commits-personal-wealth-back-stadium-plan (Copy/paste as I don't hotlink to R-J)

That was from August, weeks before the Adelson interviews that said he expected equity in the Raiders for his investment/our tax money. Now he changed his mind again? I don't think so and the quote doesn't say that either. It seems clear the local message through the R-J mouthpiece is not the same as the one the PR machine is putting out to the national media. The reason for that should be obvious.

Abboud is a lobbyist for Sands. I feel like you already knew that. Adelson owns the R-J, which has become a laughing stock in the media industry since he acquired it. It is not a credible/balanced source for much of anything these days and certainly not on this topic.

An NHL or NFL franchise will be another reason for people to visit Las Vegas. There are many teams in the NFL that have a fan base that travels to their games. There would be an extra incentive to travel to a game in Vegas.

It does bring into question the home field advantage for a Vegas team.
i would definitely take in an NFL game and NHL game when i come to Vegas for a visit !

My friends from Oakland tell me that Oakland doesn't have the money to keep the Raiders. That the recent 1.3 billion figure is just a proposal to consider a stadium and not even an actual deal that is any kind of formally visualized situation like with what we have. That it's a joke and the city is still paying off the 95 million from the last time they moved the Raiders to Oakland. They don't even have the multi-millions to fix the current stadium they're in.

That's why more money is on Las Vegas. Plus you know a super bowl here would be epic.

The Las Vegas Raiders won today and will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.

As was discussed earlier in this thread, the proposed Las Vegas stadium wouldn't qualify as a SB host. If they figured out a way, it would be one hell of an event though.

Here is a balanced story from an objective (in other words, not the R-J) source that discusses how the NFL is working to keep the team in Oakland etc and the tug of war with Davis. It mentions the league may be inclined to finance an Oakland stadium because of the market size comparisons and projections. There is real concern about the viability of the Las Vegas market.

No doubt they would have the Super Bowl in Vegas when the Raiders move here. Sooo much money would be made for everyone involved.

It is often stated that the Las Vegas television market is much smaller than the Bay Area television market. I am not sure that the Raiders would lose much in the Bay Area market. After all, they outdraw the Rams in Los Angeles, a market the Raiders left more than a decade ago. Source: Fred Roggin.

As TV markets go, it isn't just the Bay Area as it pertains to the Raiders. Sacramento is also a Raiders' TV market. It's twice the size of Las Vegas by itself. Monterey/Salinas adds another 250,000 households. The Oakland TV market is about 5.5 million total TV households.

Las Vegas is 736,000 households and an NFL team here would have no other official TV markets. That is why the NFL isn't thrilled with the relocation idea. The Raiders' current market is eight times the size of the one it wants to move to. Sure, it shares with the 49ers. Even if you chop it into two, the Raiders' still have four times the reach now than what they would have in Las Vegas.

Add the home exclusivity rule to that and you're taking about six Sunday afternoon games off TVs in Las Vegas, the highest rated neutral NFL market in the country. That's a loss of about 500,000 cumulative viewers in the Las Vegas TV market every season before you include the ones that go to the games. When you add that, you're well over one million.

I think you missed my point. The Raiders continue to draw television viewers in markets they have left.
