I was watching this anvil cloud progress a couple hours ago from the far southeast. I was under the patio and had the portable radio playing and heard the static from the lightning, then thunder once. I could just see some CB mamatus clouds (CB - cumulonimbus) building under in there Nice heavy shower just went through (4:50pm pacific).

NW just had a monster downpour. I could not see the north side of the valley for most of it. We stood out under the patio until the wind got so strong it was raining hard and sideways under it.

Well, so much for all those warnings about the HUGE amounts of rain headed our way. I got enough to wet my patio last night. Guess I have to water now.

Right? The weather people always over-exaggerate.
