I'll 2nd that! You're much better prepared than many others who are making this move, which means you're much more likely to succeed than them. Good luck.

I guess that's what you all are trying to say. lol Like I said I'm sticking to my 1 year if it doesn't work out I will go home. I'm renting my house out in Ohio for my first year in Vegas if I hate it I have a home to come home to. If I love it... I have a home to put on the market!! lol
I think you will love living here. I love your enthusiasm! I wish I would have been like that when I first moved here. I didn't want to at all. But after about a year here I was fine. I also don't have any family here, but have made many friends and some are like family.

And since you will be living in Las Vegas, you will find you get more visitors. Everyone wants to visit Vegas and stay with you while they are here.

I have been coming to Vegas on vacation almost every summer (usually in July so I KNOW about the heat and I LOVE IT) since I was 16. Yes we left the strip quite a bit. I wanted to go to UNLV for college but ended up not going because I didn't want to leave my mom. As I grew older I always wanted to move out of Ohio but due to family I never left. Now 10 years later I am going to take a leap of faith and finally make the move. Do I realize everything won't always be sprinkled with fairy dust yes. Do I expect every day to be horrible not at all. I am coming with a savings and an optimism that I WILL make it. I also know if I hate Vegas as much as some people seem to ... I can always go home. I just don't want to live my life with any regrets and wonder... what would have happened if I would have given it a try and moved to Vegas. Like I often find myself saying ... I wonder what would have happened if I would have gone away to college.

I just wanted to share my excitement about my move and see if anyone else who recently moved could relate. Sorry

You just decribed my situation to a "t". You get to a point in life that you just have to bite the bullet and do it. You don't want to live with the "what ifs". (As you and I have discussed over PM in the past). I too never got the opportunity to go away to college, and my situation is now allowing me the opportunity to experience a new phase in my life. I was just saying to my friends over this past weekend, "hey what's the worst that could happen... it blows up in my face? well then I just pick up and go somewhere else. or come back to NY."

Guys, I can vouch for movingon, s/he is not one of these types that are looking for an instant utopia... I guess you just understand it a little more when you are in the same situation.

Movingon, I am jealous though... you're getting out there before me! Did you find an apartment already?

I'll second that... I've already got a list, and I haven't even moved yet!

Yes Davey I KNOW you understand where I'm coming from!! lol It's like when Vegas was just a wish time moved really slow. Now that I know I'm really making the move ... it seems like everything is moving so fast!! lol Have you noticed since you decided to move to Vegas you meet tons of people who has a relative who moved there, or knows someone who lives there? That happens to me all the time now.
I don't have an apartment yet I will be going out June 14-21st to find a place to stay. I want a condo. I've been doing a lot of looking and just realized I can find some 3 bed/2 baths for the same price as the 2 bed/2 baths I've been looking at!!
Guess I will need the extra bedroom for all the visitors I'm bound to have!! lol I already told all my friends NOPE you can't come visit!! You never visit me on the other side of the city we currently live in!! ha ha ha Now your gonna hop on a plane and come visit??? What's crazy is that I KNOW they will!! ha ha Everyone what's to come to Vegas!!

P.S. I'm 100% she!!
