My feeling is that LV is a middle class person's playground--and not especially for the rich or very rich. Am I wrong? Enlighten me, oh! Las Vegans....

I see plenty of Very Very Rich people, some of which are my customers. I am not sure if they are here to live or play, but I'm guessing its both.

I don't see too many places as being 'playgrounds' for Middle Class people. Vegas, with its heavy SoCal influence, is not likely to fit this description either. It depends on what your definition of Middle Class is. If it's household income of less than $80K, you'd certainly be comfortable in Vegas but it's unlikely you'd have a lot of money for toys and luxury items (unless you're single).

I wonder how much of the weekend tourist population on the strip is from southern Cal? Any ideas?
I always assumed there were equal amounts of people from all over the country, but it doesn't sound like it.

Judging from the constant stream of cars coming into Las Vegas from California on a friday and saturday, I'd say the majority of visitors come from California.

Resident Vegas is definitely middle class as that is easy to check out.
Tourist Vegas is more middle class? Or very rich people? I know it has everything, but I always get the idea of mom and pop middle class there. Am I wrong?

Both middle and upper class have expendable income, but it takes dozens of weekend warriors from SoCal to equal one wealthy Chinese high roller in terms of impact on the local economy.

Approx 80% of the weekend visitors come from SOCAL.....driving back from California on a Sunday....I always try and count the cars for awhile..... multiply by 1200 and see how well we're doing
