Hello, everyone! I'll be visiting my pregnant sister in Las Vegas and I was thinking of throwing her a baby shower. My budget is low, maybe $200-300? I'm not planning anything fancy. I was thinking just a casual get together with close family and friends (maybe 8-12 pax). Please suggest a restaurant or cafe or any venue that would be nice for a small baby shower and would fit my budget. I've tried searching online but mostly the big venues come up. I hope you guys can help. Thanks for your time!

Little Darlings.

OK, seriously, $200-300 won't get you diddly for 12 people. That's only $16-25 per person. With that budget, go to a bakery and get a nice assortment of pastries. Buy a few bottles of Italian sparkling sodas -- limonata, blood orange, etc. Whip up a pot of camomile. And then have the shower at a park or at home. The facility fees on the strip will far exceed your budget.

I would talk to one of your sister's friends and see if she would co-host. Have the shower at the friend's home and you take care of the decorations/food/etc.

Best idea, right here. Combined with Scoop's menu ideas.

I dunno, the weather is really nice right now. I'd go with a park. All the parks have shade/gazebos/bandstands/etc. Take lots of nice pictures. Toss the wrapping paper and boxes in one of the recycling bins. Nobody has to clean up that way.

Or have it at the sister's house (and tidy the place in preparation for a dozen guests as part of the shower). That way, all the gifts are already where they are going to reside.

Go to Costco. Buy cakes/chips/party-platter and some nice USDA Prime steaks. Have a BBQ at a park or backyard.

That's how my wife and I celebrated her baby shower.

I have been to at LEAST 20 baby showers in the valley.(There is something in the water according to all of my in-laws). All of them have been at someone's house. Baby showers can range from 2-6 hours and would be best if that time was spent in the comfort of someone's home. If any of your family or friends live in an apartment complex, they can usually rent the guest house/club house for cheap.(sometimes free)

I would 2nd the park idea. There are MANY LV caterers who will work with a budget of $10 per person. Sandwiches, salad, etc. You can pick up and head to Sunset Park, or any of the other parks in the Valley.
